Safety for All Seasons

We are taking precautions and have closed our Visitor Center effective March 13, 2020. We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide timely updates regarding other potential facility closures at our lakes on our websites and/or social sites.
To protect against the further spread of the Coronavirus all USACE-managed campgrounds have begun an orderly shutdown and will be closed indefinitely. Individuals with paid reservations will be contacted by email and full refunds will automatically be processed by Recreation.gov with no cancellation fees. Do not attempt to contact Recreation.gov to request a refund as that will lead to a cancellation fee being charged.
Expect the unexpected! Always practice safe hunting. Before you set foot in the field make sure you have all the proper safety equipment and double check to ensure it is in safe working order. When hunting from a tree stand you should always wear a harness and #stayconnected.
Most kayakers, canoers, and paddleboarders are designed for use on protected waters and moderate currents. Know your limits!
Life jackets save lives. 85% of all drowning victims were not wearing life jackets.
Wear safety equipment, such as helmets, gloves, and other off road vehicle protective gear.
Corps of Engineers park rangers regularly patrol the water checking for proper life jacket wear, required safety equipment, and safe boater operations.
