The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers holds its annual duck blind drawing the last Saturday in September each year. Hunters draw for one of thirty duck blind location on the lake.
Long Branch Lake is found in Macon County, Missouri. Macon County ranks amoung the top Missouri counties for Whitetail Deer harvested each year.
The Missouri Department of Conservation manages the upper ends of Long Branch Lake and provideds many wildlife viewing opportunities. The wildlife viewing platform is located on the East Fork of The Little Chariton Lake Arm.

The Long Branch Lake Visitor Center is open to the public from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.  During the months from Memorial Day through Labor Day the Visitor Center is open seven days a week.
