  • Open House and Annual Site Tour for former Nebraska Ordnance Plant

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, will host an Open House from 4:30-5:30 PM, and a Site Tour from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the Main Groundwater Treatment Plant in Ashland, Nebraska located at the junction of County Road 6 and County Road F. To learn more about the former Nebraska Ordnance Plant, please plan on attending our Open House and Site Tour for handouts and light refreshments. Project personnel will be available to provide and interpret water sampling results and other site data from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
  • Harlan County Lake hosts ribbon cutting for gate repair

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Media members and the public are invited to Harlan County Lake, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, part of the Kansas City District, which will host a ribbon cutting for the recently completed project to repair the mechanisms for multiple tainter gates which allow the Corps to release water from the lake. The event is Friday, May 11 at 11 a.m. at Harlan County Lake near Alma, Neb. Col. Doug Guttormsen, commander of the Kansas City District, and other dignitaries will speak at the event hosted at a location with a view of the dam – the North Outlet Park.
  • Public invited to meeting about Kansas Army Ammunition Plant

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas Army Ammunition Plant will host a Restoration Advisory Board meeting for local community members on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Labette Community College, H Building, Room H211 located on 13th Street, Parsons, Kan., from 6 to 7 p.m. The public can speak to representatives from the U.S. Army, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment regarding on-going remediation efforts to enhance and foster relationships in the community. Light refreshments will be provided.
  • Corps of Engineers to perform dewatering and dam inspection at Clinton Lake

    LAWRENCE, Kan. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake will dewater the lake’s water control structures to perform a dam safety inspection from Apr. 17 through Apr. 24, 2018. For the safety of the public and lake personnel, access to the outlet channel and immediate area will be closed during this time.
  • Public comments requested for Clinton Lake Master Plan

    LAWRENCE, Kan. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requests comments and feedback on the draft Clinton Lake Master Plan. Comments for this plan will be accepted through Apr. 12, 2018.
