MANHATTAN, Kan. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, announce the completion of the spring period for the Tuttle Creek Reservoir Water Injection Dredging Demonstration on April 10th 2026. The project experienced an initial delay because of a fuel tank incident, and the demonstration was later extended from a planned 10 days to 15 days due to persistent high winds and lightning.

Despite the weather-related challenges, project teams successfully adapted their operations. Close collaboration between the dredging team, lake staff, the Kansas Water Office, and water management personnel enabled water conservation efforts during the delay periods.
With the spring demonstration concluded, the project team will now assess the data collected. These findings will inform the plan for the upcoming summer demonstration period, scheduled for June 2026.
