Around the Kansas City District

With significant federal, state and local dignitaries present, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency with many partners celebrated the symbolic groundbreaking for beginning of construction on the 97-acre campus in North St. Louis November 26, 2019. Lt. Gen. Todd Semonite, 54th Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (center), Rep. Adam Schiff, Calif.-28th District, Rep. Wm. Lacy Clay, Mo.-1st District, Sen. Roy Blunt, Mo.
For the 30th year, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Smithville Lake hosted what’s known as the world’s largest managed deer hunt for mobility-impaired hunters. During this two-day event, 60 hunting blinds are set up across 3,800 acres of prime ground, not available for public hunting.
It's important to understand and follow all state and federal hunting regulations. Look online or call our offices to know before you go.
Expect the unexpected! Always practice safe hunting. Before you set foot in the field make sure you have all the proper safety equipment and double check to ensure it is in safe working order. When hunting from a tree stand you should always wear a harness and #stayconnected.
When visiting a Corps lake always wear a life jacket and swim in designated swim areas.
