    KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The Kansas City District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a contract September 20, 2013, to BCI Construction USA from Belleville, Illinois, in the amount of $ 4,058,367 for fabrication of stoplogs, guides and support beams.
  • Army Corps of Engineers waives fees on National Public Lands Day, Sept. 28

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that it will waive day use fees at its more than 2,400 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in recognition of National Public Lands Day on Sept. 28. On this day, fees normally charged at boat launch ramps and swimming beaches will be waived.
  • Corps to host public scoping webinars for the Missouri River Recovery Management Plan and EIS

    KANSAS CITY, Mo.—- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting two scoping webinars on September 11 and 18 to solicit comments on the Missouri River Recovery Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement. Participants are encouraged to attend one or both webinars, which will be held from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. CDT both days.
  • Clinton Lake cleanup event planned

    CLINTON LAKE, Kan.— The 30th Annual Clinton Lake Cleanup will be held on Saturday, September 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at Shelter #1 in the Overlook Park. Volunteers will be given trash bags and sent to a specific location to pick up trash and litter. Volunteers will return to the Overlook Park to sort recyclables and put their trash into the trash truck. Entries into the "Weird Trash" contest can be submitted at this time. A hot dog, chips and soda pop lunch will be provided.
  • Corps to hold annual hunt for persons with physical disabilities

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Harry S. Truman Lake and The Masonic Lodge #653 will host the 24th Annual Truman Lake Managed Deer Hunt for persons with physical disabilities Nov. 2 and 3, 2013 at Shawnee Bend and Berry Bend Parks.
