    STATE OF KANSAS - REISSUANCE OF REGIONAL GENERAL PERMIT 43 - MAINTENANCE OF MAN-MADE LAKES AND PONDS The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, HAS REISSUED Regional General Permit 43, authorizing the discharge of dredged or fill material in waters of the United States within the State of Kansas. This regional general permit is reissued under the authority of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 USC 1344). It does not obviate the need for project proponents to obtain other Federal, state, or local authorizations. PROJECT LOCATION/LIMITATIONS: All Counties in Kansas. Man-made lakes and ponds in the State of Kansas (including Indian Country within Kansas boundaries), excluding those areas identified as Outstanding National Resource Waters (ONRW) pursuant to the Kansas Surface Water Register dated February 18, 2021. This Regional General Permit does not apply to the following Corps of Engineers lakes/reservoirs located within the Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District: Big Hill Lake, Council Grove Lake, El Dorado Lake, Elk City Lake, Fall River Lake, John Redmond Reservoir, Marion Reservoir and Toronto Lake.

  • Notice of Availability of the Regional Streamflow Duration Assessment Methods for the Arid West, Western Mountains, and Great Plains

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Albuquerque, Chicago, Detroit, Fort Worth, Galveston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Omaha, Rock Island, Sacramento, San Francisco, St. Louis, St. Paul, and Tulsa Districts, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Regions 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 jointly announce the availability of the Regional Streamflow Duration Assessment Methods (Regional SDAMs) for the Arid West, Western Mountains and Great Plains. The methods are rapid assessment tools for distinguishing between ephemeral, intermittent, and perennial streamflow at the reach scale for the Arid West, Western Mountains and Great Plains regions.

    USACE is pleased to announce that the new national online application portal and management platform, known as the Regulatory Request System (RRS) now includes an electronic submission option for permit applications. This platform has been introduced to modernize our permit application process and to address our users' expectations by providing a straightforward and transparent process for the submittal of permit requests.
