  • Tuttle Creek announces changes for camping for winter season

    MANHATTAN, Kan. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District project at Tuttle Creek Lake announce Tuttle Creek Cove and Stockdale Park campgrounds will begin winter operations November 1, 2017 and continue through April 14, 2018. Campers need to be aware that water and electricity will not be available during this time and sanitary facilities will be limited to select vault toilets. There are no reservations or camping fees during the winter camping season. All other regulations remain in effect. Visitors are reminded park roads receive no winter maintenance.

  • Tuttle Creek Lake concluding fall lake level rise

    MANHATTAN, Kan. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake has raised the conservation pool (lake level) 2.5 feet over the past two weeks to a fall elevation of 1079 feet above sea level.

  • Corps making final preparations for 3 major projects at Tuttle Creek Dam

    MANHATTAN, Kan. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, is finalizing timelines with contractors to mobilize and begin work on three major construction projects near Tuttle Creek Dam. These projects include rehabilitation of service gates 3 and 4 located in the lakeside intake tower, rehabilitation of the stilling basin (locally known as “the tubes”) located below the dam, both in Riley County, and replacement of the bridge deck over the dam’s spillway at the east of Tuttle Creek Dam in Pottawatomie County.

  • Zebra Mussels found in Tuttle Creek Reservoir

    MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism has confirmed the presence of zebra mussels in Tuttle Creek Reservoir. The reservoir encompasses areas in Riley, Pottawatomie and Marshall counties. An alert fisherman found a rock with one adult zebra mussel attached and reported it to KDWPT staff at the Tuttle Creek State Park office. A subsequent search by KDWPT fisheries staff verified the presence of additional zebra mussels. Twenty-nine Kansas lakes are now confirmed to have zebra mussels. Other reservoirs in northeast Kansas with zebra mussel infestations include Milford, Clinton, Perry, Pomona, John Redmond and Melvern lakes.

  • Corps awards $8.9 million in contracts for Tuttle Creek projects

    MANHATTAN, Kan. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, has announced the award of two contracts at Tuttle Creek Lake in Riley County, Kansas. The first contract award is to Alltech Engineering Corp., Saint Paul, Minnesota on July 17, 2017 for the rehabilitation of Service Gates 3 and 4 in the amount of $1.34 million. The second contract award is to BCI Construction USA, Inc. Pace, Florida on July 28, 2017 for the rehabilitation of the stilling basin downstream of Tuttle Creek Dam, locally known as the tubes, in the amount of $7.62 million.
