Draft Lower Osage Programmatic Agreement

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, has coordinated with the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office to prepare a draft Programmatic Agreement in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act for the Lower Osage Ecosystem Feasibility Study. In doing so, USACE invited the participation of the Advisory Council on Historic Resources and 12 Federally-recognized Native American tribes. The draft Lower Osage Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility Report and Environmental Assessment was previously released for public review and comment on October 1, 2024 and the comment period closed on October 31, 2024. The overall purpose of the feasibility study is to identify a plan that will achieve ecosystem restoration benefits along the Lower Osage River. This draft Programmatic Agreement is being made available for public review and comment for 30 days, beginning on November 1, 2024 and closing on November 30, 2024. Comments on the draft Programmatic Agreement should be sent to Tim Meade, Senior District Archeologist and Tribal Liaison, at Timothy.M.Meade@usace.army.mil.
