  • Special permit archery deer hunt scheduled for Clinton Lake

    LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake announce the opening of the application process for the annual Special Permit Archery Hunt at Bloomington, Rockhaven, and Woodridge Parks. Applicants will be randomly chosen and allowed to hunt is assigned, designated areas from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, 2017. Applications are due no later than 4:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2017.
  • Turkey hunt scheduled for youth and disabled hunters at Kanopolis Lake

    MARQUETTE, Kan.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kanopolis Lake will host its 2nd annual youth and disabled turkey hunt Saturday, April 1, 2017. This event allows hunters self-guided access to public lands managed by the Corps of Engineers including refuge and park areas usually closed to hunting.

    SMITHVILLE, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Smithville Lake will host a special deer hunt for disabled hunters Nov. 19 and 20. All hiking and biking trails at Smithville Lake and Smithsfork Park will be closed during the two-day event.

    MARQUETTE, Kan.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kanopolis Lake announce the annual waterfowl blind permit drawing. The event will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at the Kanopolis Lake Information Center located at 105 Riverside Drive, Marquette KS, 67464.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to host Wounded Warrior Deer Hunt at Perry Lake

    KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Perry Lake has teamed up with The American Legion Post 142 in Perry, Kansas and the Quality Deer Management Association in Atchison, Kansas to host the second annual Wounded Warrior deer hunt for Soldiers in Fort Riley’s Warrior Transitions Battalion on December 5 and 6. The American Legion organizes food and lodging for the Soldiers during the weekend event while the QDMA provides hunting guides to assist in the blind, field dressing, tagging and loading harvested deer.
  • KANOPOLIS LAKE - Special muzzleloader deer hunt scheduled for Kanopolis Lake

    MARQUETTE, Kan.– The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kanopolis Lake will host its special muzzleloader deer hunt on Corps of Engineers land on the backside (east) side of the dam. The hunt, a muzzleloader only hunt event, will allow hunters that have a hunter education certificate or valid hunting licenses, to be drawn from a pool of applicants to hunt at the assigned area. Hunters are required to carry a “special hunt” permit issued by the Corps of Engineers and follow all Kansas statutes. Normally, hunting below the dam at Kanopolis Lake is limited to shotgun and archery methods only.
