  • State and federal partners encourage public to attend Jefferson City spin-off study public meeting

    Officials will hold a public meeting for the Lower Missouri River Jefferson City spin-off study on September 26, 2024, in Jefferson City, Missouri. The meeting, which will be held by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, will present all study information up to this point and make sure all stakeholders know the information available regarding what alternatives have federal interest, and what the schedule looks like for the study going forward.

  • Annual Rathbun Lake fall release set for week of September 23

    The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently sought public input regarding the Rathbun Lake annual fall release. The Kansas City District has carefully evaluated the release against public and stakeholder input, water available in storage, downstream conditions and weather forecasts. In consideration of these factors, the district has determined the fall release will occur the week of September 23, 2024.
  • Partners and stakeholders join Kansas City District on annual Missouri River barge inspection

    A barge inspection of the Lower Missouri River Basin was held on Aug. 28, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. The annual event was hosted by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The barge inspection is an opportunity for Missouri River partners and stakeholders to view various Kansas City District Civil Works projects on a segment of the river. Subject matter experts from the district were present to discuss the Missouri River Recovery Program, Operations and Maintenance for Navigation, the Lower Missouri River Basin studies and the Kansas Citys Levees Civil Works project. Guest speakers included the Missouri Department of Transportation and Water One.
  • Flood Resiliency Study team to hold public outreach meeting in Brunswick, Missouri

    Officials are hosting a public outreach meeting in Brunswick, Missouri, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, to discuss progress on the flood resiliency study near Brunswick. The meeting will be held at the American Legion Hall Post #7 209 W. Broadway St., Brunswick, MO, 65236. It is hosted by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The meeting room is ADA accessible.
