The City of Lawrence and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Clinton Lake Project
Office announced today the planned closure of the road to the Clinton Dam north
outlet area during improvement work to the City’s Clinton Water Treatment Plant
Raw Water Pump Station.
The
closure begins Feb. 15 and lasts through April 1, 2016. The closure area begins
at the City of Lawrence Mutt Run parking lot and goes to the Clinton Dam north
outlet area with all public access, to both vehicles and pedestrians,
prohibited.
Beginning
April 1, 2016 until November 1, 2016 vehicle access to the north outlet area
will be restricted beginning at the fisherman's parking area east of the
outlet. The north outlet stairway down to the channel will be accessible by
foot from the parking lot.
The
Mutt Run parking lot will remain open during construction. The construction
will not affect walking or hiking access within the Mutt Run area. Construction
will not affect access to the channel from the south outlet area.
