KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The Kansas City District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is pleased to announce that it has completed work on the Rushville-Sugar Lake Levee located between Buchanan and Platte counties.
A contract was awarded to ESI Contracting Corp. located in Kansas City for approximately $1.3 million on Jan. 30 to make the repairs.
These projects are a cooperative effort between the local levee sponsors and the Corps of Engineers. The sponsor plays a vital role for non-federal levee rehabilitation projects and is responsible for 20 percent of the construction cost, the right of way and the material necessary to reconstruct the levee
Interested media are invited to the site Monday, March 19 at 11:30 to discuss with the Corps details as they relate to the levee repairs.
