Published Aug. 10, 2023

A public meeting to discuss the updates to the Water Control Manuals for dams on the Lower Kansas River in Waverly, Missouri on August 17, 2023, will be held by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more how USACE uses the Water Control Manuals at each of its reservoirs, how the Missouri River both influences and is impacted, how these updates will be accomplished and to provide their input.

Water Control Manuals for Milford Lake, Tuttle Creek Lake, Perry Lake and Clinton Lake are currently undergoing an update after Congress provided funding to USACE districts across the country. Congress provided direction to update Water Control Manuals, to evaluate and potentially update Water Control Plans as necessary, include a drought contingency plan for managing water releases from dams when there is a drought and meet new administrative requirements for formatting and updating information.
