Registration open for special permit archery hunt at Perry Lake

PERRY, Kan.— The U.S Army Corps of Engineers at Perry Lake announce the application opening for the annual Special Archery Hunt Sept. 16 – Dec. 31, 2019. Applicants must apply by Sept. 3, 2019. This event is limited to eight hunters.

This special hunt will take place in Longview, Slough Creek and Rock Creek parks. This is a specially-permitted, archery-only hunting event. Hunting is not usually allowed in Perry Lake’s park areas. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers host this annual hunt in areas that are closed to public hunting to prevent overpopulation of deer.

Hunters will be randomly selected from a pool of applicants and will be assigned designated hunting units. Those selected can invite one additional hunter to accompany them. All hunters are required to carry a special permit issues by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. All Kansas statutes and regulations apply.
