LAWRENCE, Kan. — The U.S Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake announce the application opening for the annual Special Archery Hunt Nov. 1 – Dec. 31, 2019. Applicants must apply by Sept. 1, 2019.
This special hunt will take place in Bloomington, Rockhaven and Woodridge parks. This is a specially-permitted, archery-only hunting event. Hunting is not usually allowed in Clinton Lake’s park areas. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers host this annual hunt in areas that are closed to public hunting to prevent overpopulation of deer.
Hunters will be randomly selected from a pool of applicants and will be assigned designated hunting units. Those selected can invite one additional hunter to accompany them. All hunters are required to carry a special permit issues by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. All Kansas statutes and regulations apply.
Applications can be picked up at the Clinton Lake Visitor Center located at 872 N. 1402 Road, Lawrence, KS 66049 or downloaded online at https://corpslakes.erdc.dren.mil/pdfs/19Sep-ClintonLake-ArcheryHunt.pdf.
