Public comment period open for Former Weldon Spring site

KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The 88th Regional Support Command is initiating a 30-day public comment period from Dec. 1-31, 2012, to allow the public time to review and comment on the proposed action presented in the Draft Final Site Closure Documentation Report for Building S-28 at the Former Weldon Spring Ordnance Works.

The 88th RSG will consider all comments from the public before finalizing the document. Comments and responses will be documented in a Responsiveness Summary included as part of the report.

The Corps of Engineers encourages the public to review the document in the Information Repository or on the Missouri Department of Natural Resources website at http://dnr.mo.gov/env/hwp/fedfac/ffs-dod.htm#weldon-spring-ord to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the demolition and environmental investigation activities conducted at the site, as well as the proposed action.
