The first full reach of levee raise is nearing completion on the Central Industrial District (CID) Levee Unit between I-670 and Hy-Vee Arena. Work is progressing with utility connections and the final earthwork for this half mile stretch of work, which will raise the levee by four feet. There were numerous challenges encountered working through abandoned stockyards infrastructure. New concrete floodwalls and various levee raises are also being constructed along numerous reaches of the three levee units, with foundations being drilled and poured, rebar being set, and concrete being poured. Construction has seem some delays with the winter weather, but we anticipate a significant ramp up as spring approaches.
