Q: I thought the campgrounds at Rathbun Lake used to open earlier than May. What has changed?

A: You are correct. Up until two years ago the campgrounds had what we referred to as "shoulder season" options billed into our Gate Attendant contracts for opening earlier that May 1 and staying open later than September 30 if weather and site conditions allowed.
