Operation of scooters, mopeds, golf carts or off-road vehicles at Melvern Lake

In recent years there has been a significant increase in the use of the smaller motorized recreation "vehicles" such as motorized skateboards, scooters, electric bicycles, mopeds, etc., particularly by children, which pose the largest safety risk. Many parents feel that our parks offer the freedom to ride these machines anytime, anywhere with little regard to the child's safety. Unfortunately, this occurs primarily on the weekends when the parks are extremely busy and vehicle traffic is at its highest.
It is the policy of Melvern Project to restrict the use of such machines to individuals who can display a valid driver's license or provide proof that there is a medical necessity to have such a machine. Individuals who are physically handicapped or have a medical condition that warrants the use of a golf cart, motorized scooter or similar machine may be exempt from the above restriction provided they can offer proof of such medical disability. Welcome to the 2012 Recreation Season

Welcome to the 2012 Recreation Season at Melvern Lake. As usual the parks will open with the following schedule:
1 April -- Outlet Park opens (closes 31 October)
1 May -- Arrow Rock, Coeur d'Alene, and Turkey Point Parks open (close 30 September).
All camp pad hook-ups and all other park facilities will be turned on and operational. Plan your outdoor recreational activities now. Recreation.gov is accepting reservations now for your favorite campsites. Come and visit us this summer.
You will notice a new addition to the outdoor recreation opportunities at Melvern Lake this summer. There will be a new group camp area at Turkey Point Park. In addition to our Turkey Point Group Camp (TPGC), we will debut Lake View Group Camp (LVGC) just behind the park attendant booth. Where TPGC offers basic camping with large family camp sites, a small picnic shelter, and a pit privy. LVGC will have 12 water and electric sites, a new large picnic shelter, a playground, and a ...
