A concerned and hardworking volunteer at Rathbun Lake near Centerville, Iowa, received recognition for his years of service Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Krazy Connie’s Landing during the Rathbun Lake Association’s annual meeting.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers leaders at Rathbun Lake presented the Recognition of Volunteer Service to Mr. Frank Ollinger for his years of dedicated service at Rathbun Lake. Ollinger dedicated countless hours monitoring aluminum can collection sites throughout the campgrounds with a goal of accumulating revenue for the Rathbun Lake Association to support the celebration of Rathbun Lake’s 2021 50th anniversary fireworks display.

Ollinger’s tireless commitment helped reach his self-imposed goal of raising $10,000, which he achieved in September 2019.

“This significant accomplishment was no small achievement, and on behalf of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, Rathbun Lake staff we thank you for all you do,” said Phillip Brown, Operations Project Manager, Rathbun Lake.
