WARSAW, Mo. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Harry S. Truman Project Office advises area residents that boundary line maintenance work will soon begin in the Roscoe, Osceola and outlying St. Clair County area.

Arrowhead Starr Company from Arkansas has been awarded the contract for this work. Arrowhead Starr will treat 70 miles of the Harry S. Truman Project boundary starting in February with a planned completion date of March 31, 2018.

Boundary line maintenance involves crews replacing damaged or missing boundary signs and posts and clearing brush and small trees from an area four feet wide on the public property side of the boundary line. Trees larger than six inches in diameter will not be removed but instead pruned of side limbs for a distance of up to seven feet high on the trunk.

Current work involves the boundary line along the Osage arm in St. Clair County from the Roscoe area to the Fox Run area near State Highway ZZ.

The Corps contracts this work in order to maintain a visible and distinct boundary line between public and private property. A definitive boundary prevents unintentional encroachments onto public lands by adjacent private property owners and unintentional trespass onto private property by public land visitors.

Questions concerning the project can be directed to Natural Resource Specialist Koi Henderson at Harry.S.Truman@usace.army.mil or by phone at 816-389-3861.
